Galway at Night: Where to Go

Galway at night is massively eclectic. The Eyre Square, Shop Street and the Latin Quarter take in some of the best of the city’s buzzing nightlife.

From rock and jazz to traditional Irish music, to cocktails, wines, and international beers, Galway has it covered. It’ll sure set to deliver a stag party that’s one for the books.

So let’s start!

In the Latin Quarter on Shop Street is the Taafees Bar. The bar provides Galway at night with live traditional music every night starting early in the summer months.

Likewise, found in the Latin Quarter are The Quays and The Front Door. The Quays Bar is a well-known music venue especially if you’re fond of live music and great food. From 12 in the afternoon, the foods are being served. In the evening, you can expect an a la carte menu.

On the other hand, the Front Door is one of the largest pubs in the city centre spreading over two floors with five separate bars. Live music begins every night at 9:30 pm during the week. However, on Fridays and Saturdays, it starts at 10:30 pm. Then, it starts at 9:00 pm on Sunday nights followed by a DJ set until 2 am.

In the heart of Galway City on the East of Eyre Square, you can locate O’Connells Bar. Expect a lot of people in this bar. On Friday and Saturday nights, there is live music in the beer garden and the outdoor bar opens to serve the crowd.
